Doc-Naming Conventions

How the various components of a website are named is a very important aspect of the website design process. Having no naming standards can cause website challenges and subsequent confusion. With the significant number of individual items that have to be managed within a website lack of a systematic naming convention can lead to significant website maintenance and management issues. The OESC website has a systematic and arguably rigid naming convention to provide for consistent and effective site management.

This page provides links to all of the documentation pages that deal with naming the various website components such as pages, posts, users etc, Click on any of the links below to access the page documenting how that type of website resource is to be named. If you encounter a website component that is not covered by these naming conventions please contact the Webmaster so that an appropriate naming convention can be established for the previously unidentified component.
